Real-Time Monitoring Data

Scientists use information on river flow in the Middle Fork to find out what habitat conditions are like for fish at different times of year.

Want to find out what the river flows are right this moment, or look at patterns over the last year? Check out the two United States Geological Survey stream gauges on the Middle Fork:

Stream gauge above Camp Creek, near Galena

Stream gauge at Ritter

Weather data can help scientists understand why river water temperatures on the Middle Fork change the way they do.  We monitor the weather from a special weather station on the Oxbow Conservation Area, which reports it to us in real-time.

Visit our weather station site to see what the weather is like right now, or look up data and graphs from any period in the past!
